Read Across America Day at Aeolian 3/3/17

Aeolian LOVES celebrating reading!!  Dr. Seuss's birthday is on March 2nd, so every year at this time we take a day to celebrate him and what he contributed to children's literature.  Students came dressed in their pajamas and met in the Rose Garden to celebrate through Reading Awards, Music, and a reading from the book Cat in the Hat by Mrs. Martinez.  We had a surprise visit from Assemblyman Ian Calderon who presented Principal Speh with a certificate from the State Assembly honoring our school for celebrating literacy.   During the reading, the Cat in the Hat along with Thing 1 and Thing 2 come out and cause a ruckus amongst the students.  They all have a blast!

Throughout the rest of the day we have guest readers in each class to read to the students.  This includes, parents, community members, and business leaders.  Students love listening to a story being read to them!  At lunch time we have a school-wide picnic in the Rose Garden for the Aeolian Community!  Parents join their children and enjoy a meal and laughter.

Thank you all who came and joined us to read!!
