On Oct. 23, 2014, all four Los Nietos School District’s THINK Together extended learning time programs joined more than 8,000 events nationwide to celebrate Lights on Afterschool, an annual event that calls attention to the importance of afterschool programs for youth, families, and communities.
At Aeolian School, staff welcomed Assemblyman, Ian Calderon, to the school as they shared with him components of the afterschool program. Additional events focused on Zumba classes for students and a food demonstration in the Aeolian Cafeteria. Aeolian Cafeteria manager, Frank Alvarez, provided a food demonstration on making crepes and provided samples for the students.
The event was well attended and supported by staff and students as attention was brought to the very positive things the Think Together program offers to the students of the Los Nietos Community.
