Parents, students, and staff were all out on our first Friday together for the 2014-2015 school year. Principal Speh welcomed everyone back to school. Miryam and Ytosie led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mrs. Speh discussed the great events we have planned for this school year and how hard the teachers have been working getting ready for the students' arrival. Implementing Common Core State Standards is our academic focus this year. Congratulations went out to one of our fourth graders who read over 1,000 minutes over the summer. He received the Aztec statue that he was able to have on his desk for the week. Great job Max!! Mrs. Speh had the students cheer for their grade level and ended with thanking our parents and teachers for loving us and teaching us. Our next Friday Flag is on August 29th. We will be welcoming the new Aztecs 1st-6th grade to our school. All parents are invited to attend and get some coffee!
