Did you attend parent conferences October 24-28th? What did you learn about what your child is learning for Trimester 1?
If your child is struggling in school then it would be good to ask their teacher for advice for what to do to help them. You can also ask their teacher for study sheets for your child.
Did you understand why your child got the grade that they did? If you didn't understand why they got bad grades you could ask your child some questions such as-
-Where they absent too long?
-Did they turn in their work?
etc.
Make sure to check their agendas. Also, make sure that they finished their homework.
Next parent conferences will be in the the spring time before the CST tests.
