Over the summer two green houses were donated to Aeolian's award winning garden club. Parents, teachers, staff, and students worked to assemble one of the green houses. While one group assembled a green house another group primed and painted the garden boxes preparing them for the Art Club. Aeolian's Art Club will work over the next few weeks to paint and decorate the boxes. The Garden Club and the newly established Parent Garden Club will then plant fall crops. The two student clubs (Garden Club and Art Club) are working together to create a natural museum of wild life beauty.
Despite the fact that Aeolian has made more growth over the past four years than any other school in the Los Nietos School District and has the second highest scores in the district it is the only school in the district without a school library. Over the summer the PTC made a commitment to establishing a school library. But first, we needed a room to house the school library. Due to construction over the summer, district office staff were unable to get into the school to clear out space. Our group of volunteers moved furniture, filing cabinets, books, etc. from one location to another to make room for our brand new library. Our school has purchased several book cases and display cases from Borders Book Stores at a fraction of the cost. A final group of parent, staff, teacher and student volunteers worked tirelessly to load and unload heavy book cases and supplies for the creation of our school library.
At Aeolian every one pulls together and does whatever it takes for our students. We would not have the school we have without all of our hard working volunteers who do so much for so many. Thank you for your time, effort and energy. Thank you for making Aeolian such a great place to learn and grow!
