Message From Superintendent Vasquez Concerning Breakfast and Lunch Pick-up Locations-April 3, 2020

Good evening Los Nietos Community members this is Superintendent Vasquez,

Last week I sent a message informing you that all Los Nietos Schools would remain closed until May 5th, as we were following the recommendation made by the LA County Superintendent of schools.  This week our Governor and the LA County Superintendent of Schools made a new recommendation that schools should remain closed for the remainder of the school year due to the spread of the coronavirus. Next week I will be making an announcement about whether our schools will remain closed longer than the original May 5th date. As always, maintaining the safety and health of our students and staff is the priority during this world-wide pandemic.

Teachers have been creating new learning packets for all students and will be contacting parents to let them know when they can pick them up next week. We are almost ready to share with students and parents a website that we have created that will detail how teachers will be providing distance learning opportunities for their students.

Lastly, we have made changes to how meals will be distributed for the remainder of the school closures. Beginning this Monday, April 6th, students will still be able to get their grab and go meals on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. However, meals will only be available at the Los Nietos Middle School and at Rancho Santa Gertrudes School. Any Los Nietos student will be able to go to either location to pick up their meals.

Please check your emails or go to the district website for the latest information that I have posted. Please take care of yourselves, stay indoors as much as you can, and continue to wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds whenever you can. Have a good weekend.
