Message From Superintendent Vasquez  on March 13, 2020 Regarding Student Dismissal from March 16-April 3, 2020

Dear Los Nietos Community:

Earlier today, the Federal Government declared a national emergency in response to COVID-19. In conjunction, the Los Nietos School District continues to hold the health and safety of your child as the highest priority. In the interest of the health of our students and our community, the Los Nietos School District will temporarily dismiss students, effective Monday, March 16. Classes will resume on Monday, April 6, pending recommendations by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and Los Angeles County Office of Education in the coming weeks.

To be clear, this is a temporary dismissal, not a closure – there are currently no cases of COVID-19 at Los Nietos schools. Nevertheless, we encourage our community to follow the list of practices the district and the Department of Public Health are recommending to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. You can find these and more information at www.lnsd.net.

I know you might have many questions. Please rest assured that we will continue to communicate with you via multiple channels as we navigate this extraordinary situation, and you can always call the district office with specific questions.

Thank you for your understanding and commitment to the Los Nietos Family.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Vasquez
Superintendent
